NEW AIR SERVICE TO BRUSSELS: On June 1, 2007 Northwest Airlines expanded its European flight network with a new service: Detroit-Brussels. The nonstop service to Belgium is in cooperation with its joint venture partner, KLM Royal Dutch Airlines. June also sees the start-up of a daily direct service between Brussels and Philadelphia (PHL) with US Airways. On August 5, 2007 Jet Airways will begin daily flights to Brussels from Newark airport. NEW HOTEL OPENINGS: The Marriott Ghent opened on May 22 including the ICC Conference Center which accommodates conferences up to 1600 guests. Martin’s Hotels 7th property, the new Martin’s Central Park in Brussels, opened its doors on March 1st. April 2007 saw the opening of Be Manos hotel in Brussels, situated very close to the Eurostar & Thalys terminal.
