November 30th to January 1st

Brussels' Grand Place and nearby Place St Catherine are magically transformed into a winter wonderland of holiday delights including an enormous Christmas tree, festive treats, a nightly sound & light show, merry-go-rounds, a giant Ferris wheel, a 150 foot-long skating rink, and a European Christmas Market village made up of hundreds of wooden cottages filled with Christmas goodies, specialties and handicrafts. Open daily M-Th 12-9; F-Su 11-11.

Antwerp

December 7th to December 26th

Holiday fun in Antwerp includes an ice skating rink, Christmas concerts and a magnificent firework display on the river Scheldt December 31st. The Antwerp Christmas Market on the Groenplaats runs from Dec 7-26 and is open M-Th 12-8, F 12-10, Sa 10-10, Su 10-9. Other holiday festivities of note include the Sunday Sale on Dec 17 & 23 and the Nostalgique fair at the Scheldt quays Dec 26-Jan 7.

Bruges

November 24th to December 31st

Beginning at the end of November, the Market Square and the Simon Stevin Square in Bruges become a charming Christmas Market of holiday atmosphere and festive treats. Opening hours 10-8. The Snow & Ice Sculpture Festival invites 40 international ice artists to show off their icy best in this year's theme, Ice Fantasy from Nov 23-Jan 13. Skate to your heart's content on the famous ice rink on the market square of Bruges from Nov 24-Jan 7.
