Portraits: For its new exhibition, the MAC has chosen to invite the Belgian artists Marianne Berenhaut and Angel Vergara Santiago to occupy its halls with their touching and unexpected works. The exhibit is held at the Museum of Contemporary Art (MAC) near Mons rom February 18 through May 6, 2007. More information on the exhibition is available here. The museum, which in 2006 received the coveted title of "Best Museum in Wallonia", is an outstanding example of industrial architecture.

Black Pharaohs: From March 9 through September 2, the Royal Museum of Mariemont is devoting an original exhibition to the other kingdom of the pyramids, that of Sudanese Nubia and the western desert of the High Valley of the Nile. Following one of the most mythic caravan routes in history, the “Darb al Arba’ïn”, or “The Forty Days Road”, the light dawns on prestigious archaeological discoveries telling of five millennia of history, from the Neolithic Period to contemporary times. A great exhibition held at the information and visitors center (Loketten) of the Flemish Parliament in Brussels through June 23, 2007.
