Fondation Folon - La Hulpe

The "Fondation Folon" located in the ancient farmhouse of the Château de La Hulpe,
only a few minutes away from Brussels, is an initiative of Jean-Michel Folon. His drawings have appeared in numerous magazines including Time, Fortune, The New Yorker, and
L' Express. In 1969 he had his first one-man show in the United States, followed closely
by exhibitions in Tokyo, Venice, Milan, London, Sao Paulo, Geneva, Brussels, and Paris.
His works are held in the most prestigious private and public collections worldwide.

The foundation's intention is to conserve and exhibit the 500 artworks donated by

the artist.  A dynamic and playful exhibit presents the artist's favorite themes

and techniques. Visitors will discover watercolors, screen prints, sculptures in

wood, plaster and bronze, engravings next to their original copperplates, stained

glass made in Chartres and some of the numerous posters and stamps Folon has

designed.

New since 2004 is the focus on Folon's illustrations such as 'Alcohols and Calligrammes'
by Apollinaire, the complete oeuvre of Jacques Prévert, Kafka's Methamorphosis, Albert Camus' 'Pluies de New-York', and Jean Giono's 'L'homme qui plantait des arbres', to name
but a few.

Permanent exposition open every day except Mondays, from 10.00 am to 6.00 pm
(latest entrance at 5.00 pm). Entrance fees for adults are 7.50 Euros, for students
and seniors 6.20 Euros, children age 6 to 11 pay 5 Euros. The visit is free of
charge for children under the age of 6.

Jean-Michel Folon passed away October 2005.
