Christmas Markets in French-speaking Belgium

The Plaisirs d'Hiver transforms Brussels into a magical Christmas market with more than 240 wooden chalets, from November 25, 2011 to January 1, 2012. Visitors can stroll between the chalets and discover the Christmas lights and handicraft items for sale. This year, Brussels Christmas market will mark the start of the 2012 Year of Gastronomy. Taste local products and authentic holiday dishes. There is also the Liege Market, the largest and the oldest Christmas market in Belgium, attracting 1 and a half million visitors. “A Table!: From the field to the plate” is a fascinating exhibition, open through June 3rd at the Tour & Taxi in Brussels, devoted to food in all its facets. The exhibit will explore questions like “why eat?”, “Where will we stand in 2050?”, “Which food for which culture?” Brussels and Wallonia will celebrate a Year of Gastronomy in 2012 and this exhibition investigates what we eat through different events and activities: farm animals, local and seasonal products, an agricultural buffet and lots more!

Eat, Drink and Be Merry in Brussels!
