Title: A Flavorful Adventure: The Tram Experience
This year’s Brusselicious theme puts the spotlight on Belgian gastronomy. In February, the capital launches a new attraction for locals and tourists alike: ‘the Tram Experience’. The Tram’s first official trip is scheduled for Tuesday, 28 February. It will provide a wonderful opportunity to discover Brussels by night while enjoying a three-course menu put together by a star-rated chef.
Every evening, the tram will carry 34 passengers along the city’s most scenic avenues, beginning at the Place Poelaert. It will then travel down Avenue Louise, Avenue de l’Hippodrome, Avenue de la Chasse and carry on to Montgomery roundabout the Boulevard du Souverain, then return via l’Etoile roundabout an end its journey at the departure point.
Seven Belgian twin-star chefs have been commissioned to prepare new versions of traditional Belgian dishes and to offer menus that highlight their own restaurants, with a focus on top-quality local produce and seasonal ingredients. Chefs Lionel Rigolet, Pierre Resimont, Bart De Pooter, Sang-Hoon Degeimbre, Pascal Devalkeneer, Thierry Theys and Denis Roberti will prepare a variety of Belgian specialties such as veal stew, mussels and frites (French fries), lobster, Werchter asparagus, sprouts and more.
The tram can welcome a total of 34 guests with seven tables for two people and five tables for four people. The cost is 75 euro per person and includes a three-course menu, two glasses of bubbly, two glasses of wine white, two glasses of red wine, and soft drinks.
