WATERLOO : Waterloo, less than 30 minutes south of Brussels, will celebrate the 195th Anniversary of Napoleon's defeat with a weekend filled with activities June 18-20, 2010. The weekend will begin with an hour-long Battle of Waterloo-inspired firework and light spectacle at 10:00PM on Friday, June 18. On Saturday, visitors will have the opportunity to travel into the heart of the Napoleonic bivouacs, to discover the everyday life of a typical soldier in the imperial army. The weekend will conclude with a reenactment of the battle with over 3,000 soldiers, with Napoleon often being played by an American actor, to give the full effect of the scale of the battle and its place in European history. Ideally located in Waterloo, the Martin's Grand Hotel offers rooms from 90 €. BRUSSELS : The Jazz marathon weekend, with 125 free concerts and more than 450 musicians, awaits jazz lovers on the biggest squares in Brussels on May 28-30.
