The Curtius Palace was built between 1597 and 1605 for Jean de Corte, named Curtius (Liège, 1551 - Léganez, Spain, 1628), who was rich industrial merchant and supplied munition to the Spanish army. The palace is masterpiece of Meuse architecture, and is today classified as 'Patrimoine majeur de Wallonie'.

The Grand Curtius is located in the historical heart of the Ardent City, the Grand Curtius offers a fresh perspective of the city, and houses gardens and a cafeteria that are open all year round.

More than just the designer of the amazing Liege's train station, Santiago Calatrava is also a painter, a sculputor and a ceramist.
