Liege's Grand Curtius Reopens its Doors after Extensive Renovations
The Curtius Palace was built between 1597 and 1605 for Jean de Corte, named Curtius (Liège, 1551 - Léganez, Spain, 1628), who was rich industrial merchant and supplied munition to the Spanish army. The palace is masterpiece of Meuse architecture, and is today classified as 'Patrimoine majeur de Wallonie'.

The museum hold more than 7,000 years worth of regional and international artifacts. More than 5,200 items are displayed in chronological or thematic order. Prestigious collections from the archaeology, decorative arts, religious and Mosan art museums, glass museums as well as the famous weaponry. The Grand Curtius is located in the historical heart of the Ardent City, and offers a fresh perspective of the city, with gardens and a cafeteria that are open all year round.
