Green Belgium

Belgium is a peaceful country where harmony with nature is present in the cities and countrysides. Brussels and its surrounding areas have more green areas than any other European capital, with numerous parks and the magnificent Soignes Forest. The southern, French-speaking part of the country, often referred to as the Ardennes, forms the country's "green lung" for its woods, nature reserves and network of rivers.
This commitment to the environment goes beyond parks and forests. Members of the tourism industry, be it hotels, guest houses, bed & breakfasts or visitor attractions, are working hard to sustain the Belgian environment. Over the last year, carbon dioxide emissions in Belgium were down 17%, more than in any other country in Europe, and the number of solar power installations quadrupled. Not that we are bragging...
