Full of historic attractions, travelers to Bastogne can enjoy the natural surroundings of the Ardennes and visit the breweries, castles and gardens that Southern Belgium is famous for! Remember that this year marks the 65th Anniversary of the Battle of the Bulge and, in Bastogne, visitors can join the year long commemoration of the historic event. In this town close to the Luxembourg border, thousands of soldiers died in WWII during the Battle of the Bulge in the winter of 1944-1945, when the Germans made an ill-fated push through Allied lines. The town is filled with stark reminders, including a star-shaped American Memorial.
