Location:

In this town close to the Luxembourg border, thousands of soldiers died in WWII during the Battle of the Bulge.

 

Getting There:

The best way to get to Bastogne is to drive by taking route E411/A4 in the direction of Namur-Arlon.

Bastogne War Museum

Discover or rediscover one of the most famous battle of the Second War. Bastogne is the place known for the Battle of the Bulges and called by Americans as the stronger battle of the WW II. Through a new area and new spaces, visit this part of the History.

The museum is currently closed due to renovations. It will reopen On March 22, 2014

The Mardasson Memorial

In the form of a five-pointed American star, this monument was designed by the architect Georges DEDOYARD, to honour the memory of the 76,890 American soldiers killed, wounded or missing in the Battle of the Bulge.

Wood of peace

The 4,000 trees making up this wood were planted for the 50th anniversary of the Battle of the Bulge. They were dedicated to the American veterans who fought in the Ardennes, Belgian combatants and all the civilians and military who died in the winter of 1944-45.

The Sherman Tank

The Sherman tank of the 11th US Armored Division "Thunderbolt" was completely renovated and is a major monument in Bastogne.
