The Chocolate Festival - Bruges

Giant Omelet - Malmedy
This egg-stravaganza takes place in Malmedy on August 15, 2007 with music, games, barbecues and fun for the whole family. Visitors can get a taste of the omelet which consists of 10,000 eggs fried in a thirteen-foot giant frying pan by the Malmedyan Omelet Confraternity. |

Hop Shoots Festival - Poperinge
Celebrated annually in March in the hop metropolis of Flanders where ¾ of the national crop is grown. The fine offspring of the perennial hop plant are available Jan-April and are served as hot or cold dishes. Potato Day - Florenville
October 14, 2007. The Plate de Florenville (Flat One of Florenville) is a firm potato with a refined taste and is famous in the gastronomic world. The festival begins on Saturday with the touffaye (braised) contest in the Breux of Chassepierre Hall. The main event takes place on Sunday on Place de Florenville with potato themed activities. |

Shrimp Festival - Oostduinkerke
During the last weekend in June the world-famous shrimp-fishermen ride into the sea on horseback in the traditional manner to catch delicious shrimp which will be cooked for all to enjoy. Oostduinkerke is the only place in the world where shrimp-fishing is done by horseback. |

Grape Festival - Overijse
Overijse is the center of the hothouse grape-growing region in Belgium. The Grapes Festival takes place every August during the harvest season with performances, Grape Races (Druivenkoers, a cycling race) and the crowning of the Grape Queen (Druivenkoningin). |
