Airport Information

Brussels International Airport lies 8 miles (13 Km) northeast of the city center.The train station is located on the lower level of Brussels International Airport (- 1st Floor). There is a train shuttle service from the airport to the North, South and Central stations of Brussels. The shuttle runs at least every 20 minutes and takes approximately 20 minutes. It operates between 5:30am - 12:20am from the airport and 4:45am - 11:10pm from the city. The cost is Eur 2,60 . Buy your ticket before getting on the train to avoid a surcharge fee. Taxi service from the airport to the city center is approximately Eur 30.00. Taxis are available 24 hours. Discount round-trip rates are available.

There is direct bus transportation from the airport to Antwerp (SN Brussels) and to Brussels.

Airport facilities include: Information/help desks, Money Exchange, Post Office, Duty Free Shops, Car Rental, Cafes/Restaurants, Beauty Shop, Business Center, Religious Services, Train Information & Reservation, Travel Agency, ATM machine and luggage lockers. Brussels South Charleroi Airport: Located one hour from Brussels, mainly for charter flights going from Brussels to Greece, Tunisia, etc.

Antwerp Airport: Located one hour from Brussels, flights to England, the Netherlands and Germany

Ferry information

Belgium - England

P&O North Sea Ferries : Zeebrugge - Hull - One departure per day. Crossing time 14 hours

Transeuropa Ferries : Oostende - Ramsgate - Passengers with car only. 1-2 hours. Four departures per day.

Belgium - Scotland

SuperFast Ferries : >Rosyth - Zeebrugge - One departure per day. Crossing time 17 1/2 hours

To travel from Belgium to England you can also take the Eurostar - the fast train that runs under the Channel.

Time zone

Belgium is six hours ahead of Eastern Standard Time and nine hours ahead of Pacific Standard time.

Train Information

In the Canada, contact Rail Europe at (800) 438-7245 for information on the Eurostar, Thalys, Benelux Pass, Eurail Passes and point-to-point tickets.

The Eurostar train between London and Brussels takes 3 hours. Leaves from the South Station in Brussels and arrives at the London Waterloo Station. 10 trains a day - It also stops at Ashford/England

The Thalys train between Paris and Brussels takes 1hours 20 minutes and 2hours 30 minutes between Paris and Bruges (runs only 3 times a day).

Important to know: the train stations in London, Paris and Brussels are located in the center of the city.

The Benelux Pass can be used to travel between Belgium, Holland and Luxembourg. No seat reservation is required within the Belgian train network.
