Namur

namur

Only a short distance from Brussels, Namur, the capital of Wallonia, is increasingly attracting attention. Around the city, a whole region of great charm is opening up to the world. Easily reached by road, air, rail or waterway, Namur keeps its heart for pedestrians.

Anyone who has stopped in Namur at one time or another, keeps a pleasant recollection of its beauty. Consider the languor of the Meuse, the round bulges of the Condroz, the peals of laughter ringing through the valleys, and the rustle of the wheat rocked by the Hesbaye. The villages are in tune with this harmony and even the towns, besides the beauty of their monuments and places of interest, have managed to preserve that gentle way of life that makes it worth living.

The citizens of Namur mean to inspire and create. From the cinema to choir singing, including poetry, the saxophone, fairground arts, the guitar and even laughter: a dozen internationally renowned festivals have sprung up in the area. For more see Namur Highlights.
